By using hydraulics, the old pipe is split and the new HDPE
pipe of the same or larger diameter is pulled into place at
an average speed of 4 feet per minute. It can even handle
twists and turned of up to 45 degrees.

Pipe
Splitting
|
|
| Unlike
other technologies, our pipe splitting equipment uses
side-by-side reciprocating hydraulic rams along with chucks
that grab the steel cable that was pushed through the
existing pipe and is attached to the splitting head. This
process allows for a static pull with no vibration, and
dewatering is not necessary. The lift of the rams advance
the splitting head through the existing pipe, breaking
or fracturing the old pipe and pulling the new HDPE pipe
of the same or larger diameter into place. |

| The
high-density polyethylene pipe follows the path of the
old, including twists, and turns of up to 45 degrees.
The HDPE pipe is joined by heat fusion, resulting in
a seamless connection that provides the same strength
as any other part of the pipe. HDPE is used worldwide
for pressure water, sewer and natural gas utilities.
It is corrosion proof, has a service life in excess
of 100 years, has a high flow factor, has a zero leak
rate at joints and no root intrusion while being resistant
to ground movement. |

The small size required for the insertion/exit pit (2'x4")
means fewer man-hours, less downtime, and allows us to work
in small spaces including manholes. This technology allows
access under landscaping,
sidewalks, slabs, parking lots, buildings and roads without
the previously inevitable destruction and costs of repairs
to property.
Don't look for this anywhere else in South Florida. We have
the exclusive license!
